Camp du Soleil
Camp du Soleil is an all-period 14th and 15th century encampment that appears periodically at Northern Atlantia SCA events. While we welcome visitors from all time periods, we prefer that the material goods in camp are period to 14th and 15th century Western Europe. Our modern selves and modern items are left at the gate of the camp, or tucked away unseen in our tents.
Setting up with Camp du Soleil is by invite only, but if you have a period encampment and want to get to know us, drop us a line! Visitors are welcome, but we ask that you remove your sunglasses (if possible) and sit on our benches and leave modern chairs elsewhere.
The idea started with Charlotte’s laurel vigil. Her amazing friends brought enough serving ware, eating ware, drinking ware, and furniture that all guests were welcome to use period equipment, and nary a paper plate was to be seen.
We’re far from perfect, but we always seek to improve.
